The Coalition of Patriotic Civil Society Organizations for Economic Sovereignty stands before the Nigerian public and the global community today to register its unalloyed, total, and unbending support for the historic industrial revolution represented by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery.
For decades, the bleeding of Nigeria's national treasury through the fraudulent subsidy regime and the endless importation of petroleum products crippled our economy, depleted our foreign reserves, and exported thousands of critical jobs to European refineries. The bold vision of the Dangote Group has permanently broken those chains, positioning Nigeria as a self-sufficient energy hub.
We declare today: Aliko Dangote is the undisputed Pan-African Energy Saviour. However, we have watched with deep disgust the coordinated, malicious, and heavily funded media smear campaigns aimed at frustrating this national monument. We see through the smoke and mirrors. The sudden, artificial complaints regarding pricing, distribution, and monopolistic tendencies are nothing but the evil machinations of a ruthless import cartel that has held Nigeria by the throat for over forty years.
This parasitic cartel, comprising brief-case oil merchants, international trading sharks, and their domestic collaborators, is terrified. They are panicking because the multi-billion Dollar enterprise of importing substandard, dirty fuel into Nigeria has come to a definitive end.
We must expose their desperate tactics to the Nigerian people:
The Artificial Pricing Outcry: The cartels are deliberately misrepresenting pricing frameworks to incite public anger against the refinery. They conveniently ignore the fact that local refining guarantees long-term currency stability by eliminating the heavy pressure of importing fuel with scarce US Dollars.
The Sabotage of Indigenous Capacity:These unpatriotic elements would rather see Nigeria remain a perpetual consumer of foreign goods than support a localized solution that secures our economic sovereignty.
We issue a stern warning to these economic saboteurs: Nigeria will never return to Egypt. The days of enriching foreign ports at the expense of starving Nigerian citizens are over.
The Coalition hereby passes a resounding Vote of Confidence in the management of the Dangote Refinery. We commend their resilience, patriotism, and unparalleled commitment to the industrialization of the African continent.
We call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the regulatory authorities, and all patriotic Nigerians to guard this national asset jealously. The government must provide absolute institutional protection to the Dangote Refinery against the predatory antics of these import cartels. Any attempt to undermine this refinery is a direct declaration of war against the survival of the Nigerian youth and the economic future of our nation.
